Summer time is coming up quick and we are already feeling the Florida heat! Here are the top five reasons your A/C is not working.
1. Settings error. (Realistically, user error!) – During the summer time when you want to get the coldest air possible, remember to turn on the re-circulation button as this will keep making the inside air colder, otherwise, you are constantly fighting hot air from outside the vehicle!
2. Cooling fan not working? – Under the hood there is a fan that pulls air across the system condenser. If that fan is not working, neither is your A/C!
3. Low refrigerant level. – When the system is low on refrigerant, many strange things can happen. The air might not cool as fast as usual or you might get hot air from one side of the car and cold air from the other!
4. Air not coming out of the vents! – The blower motor is used to push air across the evaporator and up to you through the vents. If there is not enough air flow, or there is only one fan speed you might have a blower issue.
5. System Blockage. – As a system gets worn over the years, debris can form causing blockages in the orifice tube or condenser. These blockages normally require the system be replaced.
No matter the issue or concern, be sure to have an A/C tune up performed to make sure that your A/C system is in tip top shape for the summer! Call Advantage Automotive today to schedule your A/C tune up!
